Lemons Lemons Lemons

Okay, so I don't want to go ahead and say I'm having a LEMON themed wedding... but I'm kind of having a lemon themed wedding.  I don't want to go overboard, but there are so many cool ways that I've seen to incorporate lemons into the wedding decorations.  So, here are some favorites!!
A cool way to do table numbers.  I don't think that this would work because I want to do mason jars with chalk for the centerpieces... but maybe these can go on the desert table?  Or even as centerpieces on the wedding party table!

A possibility for a "signature drink" for the wedding.  If we don't do an open bar we'll at least have two or three drinks that we have available for everyone, so here's one that looks very yellow and lemony and also sounds delicious!
• 1 oz. Vodka
• ½ oz. Lemon juice
• 1 packet (or 1 tsp) of sugar
• 3 oz. Lemon lime soda
• Extra sugar for dipping
• Sliced lemon for garnis

So this isn't exactly "lemon" related, but here is a really cool black white and yellow candy bar.  Guests would get paper bags on their way out and could take some candy to go!

Another candy bar type of idea.  It would be for people who would rather have coffee and cookies than cake (or cupcakes like we're doing).  I like the look of the candy lemons on a black stand!!

This looks MUCH better than just putting whole lemons in a vase.  I think I would do two or three of these on a table, with a few small flower arrangements.  Also, these could go inside of mason jars rather than a big vase (or the flowers could go in the mason jars!)

Just another cute desert/coffee/candy table setting!!

These two are both the same things.  It's a lemon, hollowed out, filled with a cherry parfait (or on the bottom it looks like ice cream).  I like that the top one doesn't have the lemon rind peeled off so it's even more yellow, but the bottom looks prettier without the whipped cream.

A very very yellow lemonade stand.  I think it looks so cool that they're put on top of bricks, and I like the cups they're in as well.  I just think the drink itself might be too yellow... like maybe it look like pee??  lol

These are lemon drop candies, for the tables, with people's name cards in them.  I'm not sure if people would stick their hands in and eat them though, so it might not make sense.

These are lemon marmalades!  I think it would make a really cool wedding gift and would also look great on the tables, maybe with a black and white patterned fabric on top, and a label that says our wedding date!

Bridesmaid Flowers

For my bridesmaids (who will be wearing black dresses) I want yellow flowers.  I think it'll really pop against the black, and the stems will be wrapped in white fabric, which will make it stand out even more.  I'm thinking gerber daisies, or sunflowers, or even daffodils.  Here are some options!!
NARCISSUS
In season in January, but I think December is close enough!  They kind of look like daffodils and are very very yello!!

Ranunculus
I think they're really cute (couldn't find an example of a yellow bouquet of them though).  The only thing is the bouquet looks kind of round.  But still pretty!

Tulips
Love them, as long as they're open (when they're closed they look too much like easter sunday flowers).  I'd just want to make sure they were a brighter yellow than this!!

Gerber Daisies
Love these!!  The only problem is they're not in season for the winter, but we can deal with that :)  I think they're really pretty and they're always really bright!!

Sunflowers
My absolute favorite flower in the world!!  Also special for Randy and I (when we met at work in high school eats and sweets used to have tons of huge sunflowers growing in the back!!).  Also not in season in the winter, and the yellow is off set by the brown so it won't pop as much on the dresses.

Yellow Cala Lillies
My favorite favorite favorite wedding flower.  This is what my bouquet will be made of (but they'll be black cala lillies instead) so it would be cool to all have the same flowers.  The only thing is they're not in season and can be really expensive.  But in a perfect world this would be it!!

Daffodils
Again not in season for December, but still gorgeous (similar to the first flowers on this post) but I think they might just be brighter and have a slightly different shape.

Mason Jar Ideas

Hanging Mason Jars- I thought it would be a cool idea for lighting, but I'm not sure how I would decorate with them at a wedding.  BUT we could use yellow candles in them and maybe even put yellow jelly beads in some of them to stick with the yellow theme.

Another example of mason jar lanterns, this time a little prettier!

MASON JAR TABLE NUMBERS
So cool, and again here we could fill them with yellow/black/white colors.  Maybe even use sand inside of them.

This is even cooler.  The mason jar has black chalkboard paint on it and the table number is written in chalk (we would use yellow chalk)

I also really like the idea of using different sizes of mason jars in order for the wedding party table.  They could be filled or painted or have flowers in them.

VERY cute drinks!  We could definitely do a different color (like pink) with a yellow ribbon, or even stick with the lemon idea and use lemonade

COLORS FINALLY!!!! (And some brainstorming)

So, after a month and a half of engagement, three different color palettes, and endless conversations (mostly with myself, Randy just watching) we have finally chosen colors.  And the winner is...

BLACK WHITE AND YELLOW!!!

We are SO excited about this color palette (by we I mean me... Randy thinks it's pretty cool too though).  The whole time we were going back and forth about colors, this palette just kept standing out in my head.  And I kept thinking that since I wanted a laid back, rustic wedding it just wouldn't work.  But then (at the VOW bridal expo this past weekend) I decided that it was just too perfect for us to let that change it!  In trying to figure out how I am going to use these colors and still keep my casual, country wedding I kept stopping at certain pictures, and decided that LEMONS would be a great way to do that!

Another idea  I had for making the wedding still "rustic" was to use mason jars.  I really do love the way they look, and it reminds me of being in college, when I would carry most of my drinks in mason jars (I was really cool like that and I think a lot of my college friends could relate).  Here's a really cute mason jar idea that I liked:
